The Burdekin Shire Council’s Active Parks program is on again during the mid-year school holidays.
The program will bring a range of free activities to Burdekin parks, with different events planned for the two-week school break.
Burdekin Economic and Community Development Manager Tony Vaccaro said the activities would be held in ANZAC Park, Ayr and Arch Dunn Memorial Park, Home Hill.
“This year we have something for everyone including zumba, self-defence lessons, obstacle courses, orienteering and lots more,” he said.
“The events are run on a drop-in basis so you just turn up at the event you want to attend.
“All the events are free and participants in the World Shimjang Taekwondo and Curves events will receive a voucher for a month’s membership.”
An information pamphlet and timetable has been distributed to Burdekin schools this week and also is available at the Council Chambers, Burdekin Libraries and on Council’s website.
