The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) have been advised that Ergon Energy crews will be undertaking street lighting maintenance on the Burdekin River Bridge and approaches from Tuesday 29 April to Thursday 1 May 2014 (weather permitting). On these days, the works will be conducted between the hours of 9.30am and 2.30pm.
Works will extend from the United Service Station at the intersection of the Bruce Highway and Ayr-Dalbeg Road and to the south of the Bruce Highway and Home Hill-Kirknie Road intersection.
During this time, speed restrictions will be in place and the site will be under traffic control. Motorists should expect minor delays.
To minimise disruptions, heavy vehicles with loads wider than three metres are requested to contact David Macauley on 0407 690 314 between the hours of 6.00am and 6.00pm to advise of an anticipated time of arrival to allow for road barriers and other infrastructure to be cleared. Failure to give advance warning will result in further delays.
We apologise for any inconvenience and seek your cooperation during this electrical maintenance work.
If you have any queries in relation to this work, please contact The Department of Transport and Main Roads Community Engagement Services team on 1800 625 648.
