Celebrate all creatures great and small at Burdekin Pet Party

Burdekin Shire Council is calling on residents to celebrate all creatures great and small at this year’s Burdekin Pet Party at the Ayr Showgrounds next week.

Mayor Bill Lowis said the party would kick off at 4pm on Monday, August 24, at the Cyclone Shelter.

“This party is a celebration of our pets and we would love to see everyone bring their furry friends along,” he said.

“Residents will also be able to have a vet microchip their dog or cat at the discounted price of $25.

“This year families can have a pet portrait taken for $10 and there are free animal training sessions starting at 4.30pm.

“There will be two free jumping castles for the kids and North Queensland Wildlife Care Inc will be cooking up the sausages.

“It’ll be a great night for the whole family, but just remember dogs and cats must be on a leash or in carry cages and be registered with Council to participate.”

The Burdekin Pet Party will be held at the Cyclone Shelter, Ayr Showgrounds, from 4pm until 7pm on Monday, August 24.
