Burdekin Shire Council is offering local food businesses the opportunity to attend a free food safety course.
Governance and Local Laws Manager Dan Mulcahy said the two-hour course would be held at the Council Chambers on May 20 and 21 at 6pm and May 22 at 10am.
“We’re offering our local food outlets the opportunity to boost their staff’s knowledge for free,” he said.
“This two-hour course will provide information on food microbiology, food safety standards and food safety practices such as temperature control, hand washing and cleaning and sanitizing.
“We are offering three sessions in order to provide businesses with some flexibility on when staff can attend.
“The aim of these courses is to ensure our local food outlets are up to speed with all the latest food handling information.”
Bookings can be made by contacting Council’s Environment and Health team on 4783 9800.
