The Burdekin Shire Council is reviewing its Water & Wastewater Customer Service Standards which is a benchmark for the quality of service it provides to residents.
Operations Manager Wayne Saldumbide said the revised standards would ensure Council was committed to providing quality service to our customers.
“These standards are a way that we can measure how well we are servicing the Burdekin community,” he said.
“Under the Water Supply (Safety and Reliability) Act 2008 we are required to implement certain measures to ensure the continuity of services and the protection of our customers’ interests.
“It also requires Council to quantify these measures and provide a copy to our customers.”
Mr Saldumbide said Burdekin residents were welcome to provide comment on the revised Standards.
“We have placed the proposed standards on Council’s website and hard copies will be available from our Customer Service Centre,” he said
“What we want now is for residents to read it and provide some feedback,” he said.
“This document sets out exactly what Council is responsible for and what the resident is responsible for in regard to water and wastewater.
“We want to ensure we are providing the best service we can to our residents.”
The Water & Wastewater Customer Service Standards will be open for comment until 5pm on Friday, March 6, 2015.
