The second round of the Australian Government’s Mobile Black Spot Program is now open and Burdekin residents are urged to nominate local sites requiring improved mobile coverage.
Under Round 1 of the Program a database of 6221 locations Australia-wide was developed and Burdekin received a share of funding for Dalbeg to get a new mobile tower.
The Government has committed a further $60 million to the Program and re-opened the database to allow members of the public to nominate additional mobile black spot locations.
Funding will be available over two years from July 1, 2016 with the rollout schedule planned for 2016-2019.
If you know of a site within the Burdekin region that needs improved mobile phone coverage, Council urges you to nominate local black spots by December 31, 2015 using the online form.
