Burdekin Shire Council’s Animal Management Department is offering a limited service over the Christmas holiday period.
An Animal Control Officer will be on duty on 28, 29 and 30 December, 2015. If your animal comes into Council’s care over the Christmas shut-down period and the Animal Control Officer on duty is able to identify the owner, either through a registration or identification tag and/or a microchip, Council will return it to the owner where possible.
Please call Council on (07) 4783 9800 if you have any enquiries concerning animals between 24 December 2015 and 4 January, 2016. On-call arrangements will be in place and an Animal Control Officer will only respond to: attacks by animals, collection of contained animals, straying cattle and horses and removal of dead animals not on private property.
Please note: Follow up compliance checks may be made by Council in the New Year.
