The Groper Creek Jetty will be temporarily closed to the public while sand blasting and maintenance of the jetty is carried out.
Transport and Main Roads has contracted a marine specialist to complete this maintenance project, commencing early February.
The project is expected to take two weeks to complete, however works on-site may be periodic depending on when tides occur.
Work hours are from 6am-6pm.
Weather permitting, the Burdekin community can expect the Groper Creek Jetty to be reopened for use by mid-February.
Alternative facilities are available at Wallace’s Landing, Hell Hole, Plantation Creek or Rita Island.
For more information about boat ramps in the Burdekin district, visit the Marine Queensland website at www.msq.qld.gov.au or search for boating facilities.
