Burdekin Shire residents, schools and community groups are being urged to register for the nation’s biggest garage sale.
The fifth annual Garage Sale Trail will be held on Saturday, October 24.
Community Development Manager Tony Vaccaro is encouraging residents and groups to host a garage sale on the day.
“This is a great way to do some spring cleaning and make a little bit of money in the process,” he said.
“You don’t have to do all the work by yourself, why not get together with your neighbours and host a combined garage sale.
“It’s all about reusing or recycling items that could otherwise end up in our landfill.”
If you, your business, organisation or school want to take part in this free event please register via www.garagesaletrail.com.au.
Registration is free and includes a seller webpage that can be personalised by naming the garage sale and listing items that will be for sale on the day. There are also tips and tools available to help sellers promote their sales locally. Those registering before September 25 will receive a seller’s pack with lots of goodies to ensure a successful garage sale.
