Workshop focuses on turning business ideas into reality

Do you have an idea that you think can be turned into a business, but are not sure or don’t know where to start?

TAFE Queensland North – Burdekin Campus, in partnership with the Burdekin Library, is offering an introductory overview workshop that could help turn your idea into reality.

The workshop will look at:

  • What is a micro business?
  • Micro business pros & cons
  • Generating business ideas
  • Assessing business ideas

This workshop will be held at Ideas@108, which is situated above the Burdekin Library Ayr, on October 21 from 10am to 12 Noon. Places are limited and you must book.

Burdekin Shire Council’s Library Services Manager John Scott said the workshop would be the first of a number of programs to be run in partnership with TAFE Queensland North.

“These programs have the goal of helping people crystallise an idea that may have potential as a business opportunity,” he said.

“We have a myriad of activities planned for Ideas@108 which will make it the innovation centrepiece for the Shire.”

TAFE Queensland North General Manager Joann Pyne said TAFE Queensland North was pleased to be able to partner with the Burdekin Library and present small short introductory micro business workshops in the new innovation space, Ideas@108.

“At TAFE Queensland North Burdekin we are always looking at ways we can assist the local community move forward and achieve individual career goals,” Ms Pyne said.

“In partnering with the Burdekin Shire Council we are able to directly respond to the needs of regional industry by providing and programming courses that equip local people with the skills that are in demand.

“Our role as the region’s leading provider of quality vocational education that can lead to better employment prospects for Burdekin residents is one that we are constantly reviewing and proud of.”
