The Burdekin Library Ayr will celebrate Book Week 2016 with a visual and interactive display that will take children into the Australian Outback.
Burdekin Shire Council Library Services Manager John Scott said schools, kindergartens and childcare groups had been invited to take part.
“This year’s theme is Australia – Story Country and our team has created a program that the children will love,” he said.
“We will not only have Book Week sessions, but Ranger Dan and Jackie from Hands on Wildlife will be with us for two sessions to give children a chance to get up close with Australian animals.
“Unfortunately, the Ranger Dan sessions are booked out and will not be available to the public, but there are spaces available for the book sessions.”
Book Week runs from Monday, August 22 through to Friday, August 26. Sessions will run in 45-minute sessions from 9am through to 3pm. Bookings are essential and can be made by calling the Burdekin Library on 4783 9970.
