Burdekin Shire Council will hold a community meeting on Wednesday night to discuss the future use of the old Ayr racecourse.
The meeting will be held at Council’s John Drysdale Chambers at 5.30pm, Wednesday, 21 September, 2016.
Mayor Lyn McLaughlin said a number of community groups had expressed interest in using the facility.
“Council has been approached by a number of clubs requesting use of various areas at the former Ayr Racecourse,” she said.
“We’re having this public meeting to provide an opportunity for all interested parties to come forward and discuss future possible uses of the site.
“This will give Council a better understanding of what the community wants.
“It is possible that a number of groups would be able to share the facilities so this is their chance to put their proposals forward.”
