Hop in to Burdekin Library for holiday activities

The countdown to Easter holidays has started and the Burdekin Library has lots of fun to keep your little bunnies busy.

Burdekin Shire Council’s Library Services Manager John Scott said the Library was a great place to be during the school holidays.

“We have to two main activities planned for the school holidays – a movie and learning about technology,” he said.

“We’re showing Despicable Me 2 and serving up popcorn to the children. We suggest children could bring a cushion or pillow to sit on.

“For those who are interested in technology we offer the opportunity to explore the world of Ozobots and coding. These sessions are suitable for children aged from nine and up.

“I’m also offering 12-16 year olds the chance to build their own computer and be introduced to the Linux operating system.

“At the end of this program the students will get to take the computer home to keep.”

Mr Scott said all sessions had limited spaces and urged parents to get in early to secure a spot for their child by calling 4783 9970.
