Burdekin Shire Youth Council (BSYC) will be the driving force behind a new dance party in the Burdekin this year.
The hip hop dance workshop and party, hosted by former Justice Crew member E-Man, will be just one of a number of exciting projects undertaken by the BSYC in 2016.
If you want to be a part of this, but you’ve forgotten to submit your application form, come along to the first meeting on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 3.30pm at the Burdekin Library.
Membership is open to young people aged from 12 through to 25 who live, work or study in the Burdekin.
BSYC is a platform for younger residents to raise any issues affecting them and organise events for Burdekin youth throughout the year.
In past years Youth Council has been involved in local festivals, Community Christmas Carols, Queensland Week Family Fun Day and a number of other community events and fundraisers.
BSYC assisted with the development of Anzac Park’s skate park and hosts the popular Fast Track Talent Showcase, which brings celebrity mentors to the Burdekin to work with and uncover talented locals.
If you have any questions regarding BSYC, please contact Council’s Community Development Department on 4783 9800.
