Burdekin landowners are being encouraged to attend a demonstration day on Monday 20 March, to learn about the control of woody weeds threatening rangelands and grazing systems within the shire.
NQ Dry Tropics will host the demonstration day aimed at providing landowners with information about the latest control methods, including the use of tree saws, herbicides and integrated weed management.
Burdekin Shire Council Pest Management Officers will also be present at the demonstration day to provide information about Council’s pest and weed control programs.

The demonstration day will be held at Crooked Waterhole, Minehan Road, Giru.
To get to Crooked Waterhole:
- from the Bruce Highway
- take Woodstock Giru Road towards Giru (The Northern Giru Road)
- turn left after 2.4 klms onto Minehan Road
- the property is about 300 meters along and to the left.
