Burdekin Shire Council (“Council”) has proposed to make Community and Environmental Management (Amendment) Subordinate Local Law (No. 1) 2016.
The local law which authorises the making of the proposed Community and Environmental Management (Amendment) Subordinate Local Law (No. 1) 2016 is Local Law No. 3 (Community and Environmental Management) 2012.
The purpose and general effect of the proposed subordinate local law is to declare an additional plant, being the Neem tree (Azadirachta indica) as a local pest for Council’s entire local government area.
Written submissions by any person in support of, or objecting to, the proposed subordinate local law are invited for a 21 day period commencing on Friday 27 January 2017 and ending on Monday 20 February 2017 (the “consultation period”).
During the consultation period copies of the proposed subordinate local law will be made available at the Council Chambers, 145 Young Street, Ayr; the Burdekin Library, Graham Street, Ayr; and the Home Hill Library, Ninth Avenue, Home Hill during normal office hours or can be found on Council’s website.
Submissions must be received on or before Monday 20 February 2017 stating—
- the grounds of the submission; and
- the facts and circumstances relied on in support of the grounds.
