Burdekin Industry Breakfast returns for Small Business Week

The Burdekin Industry Breakfast series returns to Burdekin Theatre next week for Small Business Week (15-20 May).

At the breakfast, a New Ideas Forum will bring together industry leaders to share their advice on how to grow small business ideas into big opportunities.

Impact Innovation Group Senior Associate Dr Simon Cashion has been confirmed as a guest speaker for the event, to be held Wednesday 17 May from 7am.

Impact Innovation Group was formed in 2006 to help start-up companies turn ideas into income and to support inventors wanting to see their technologies transform industries and applications.

Dr Cashion, who has more than 15 years’ experience in the academic, commercial and industrial research industrial sectors, joined the Impact Innovation Group after working as a manager of research and development at the Australian Water Recycling centre of Excellence.

He previously held roles with the University of Queensland’s main research commercialisation company UniQuest, and with Australian Magnesium Technologies—Europe.

The New Ideas Forum is an initiative of the Queensland Government’s Office of Small Business.
