Burdekin Shire Mayor Lyn McLaughlin has welcomed the Deputy Premier and Minister for Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning Jackie Trad’s announcement of $2.93 million in funding for local infrastructure.
“I would like to thank the Minister and State Government for this additional funding under the Works for Queensland program,” she said.
“We have a number of shovel-ready projects that Council can now progress.
“Council will announce how this funding will be allocated once Council has reviewed the criteria and the projects have been approved by the Department.
“This funding will create new employment opportunities for our residents and inject millions of dollars into our local economy.
“Burdekin Shire welcomes the opportunity to work with the State Government in maintaining and enhancing our community’s assets.”
