The new Container Refund Scheme is set to begin on 1 November 2018 and may provide new fund raising opportunities for community groups.
Under the scheme, eligible beverage containers will be worth 10c each. This may encourage community groups to organise the collection and return of containers within their communities to raise additional funds.
To help you prepare, Boomerang Alliance and Container Exchange* will be conducting an information session in Townsville to answer your questions on:
• How does the Container Refund Scheme work?
• What is a Donation Point, and how does it operate?
• How can my community group participate in the scheme?
• Question and Answer session
