Burdekin women are invited to celebrate Queensland Women’s Week at a motivational evening with television personality and personal trainer Michelle Bridges and inspiring local speakers.
Burdekin Shire Council Mayor Lyn McLaughlin said the ‘Be the Best of You’ event, on Sunday 4 March at Populins Hall, Ayr, aimed to inspire and empower women to be the best versions of themselves.
“Michelle Bridges is an author, mother, motivational speaker, health ambassador and television personality,” Cr McLaughlin said.
“She is one of Australia’s most highly regarded health and fitness experts and we are thrilled to announce her as the key note speaker of this wonderful event.
“Also sharing their inspirational stories on the evening will be four local Burdekin women. They are Tracey Ahern, Rachel Bond, Amanda Green and Naomi Jones.”
Cr McLaughlin said Queensland Women’s Week recognised and celebrated the achievements of Queensland’s women and girls.
“This year, the theme is ‘Celebrate wellbeing. Everybody wins’. It aims to encourage women and girls to celebrate their wellbeing,” Cr McLaughlin said. “This benefits not only individual women and girls, but the whole community.”
Cr McLaughlin said tickets to the ‘Be the Best of You’ motivational evening included a gourmet antipasto table, with drinks available to purchase.
“It provides a fantastic opportunity for local women to network and expand their knowledge. I hope everyone will walk away inspired to explore and celebrate their strengths.
