The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has advised minor flood levels are possible at Burdekin Falls Dam on Sunday.
The rainfall event on Wednesday and Thursday brought some heavy rain to the Burdekin catchment, particularly in the lower reaches as well as the Upper Burdekin where there were some locally heavy falls in excess of 200mm. There is no significant rainfall expected over the next few days.
River level rises are occurring downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam. River levels can be expected to continue rising through the weekend and into next week.
Downstream predictions will be provided once upstream peaks are observed.
BOM will issue the next warning at 9pm tonight, Friday 2 March, 2018.
