The Burdekin Memorial Hall has been at the heart of the district’s social scene for over 50 years. As the Burdekin’s largest function venue, it is the obvious choice for hosting major events such as balls, weddings, cabarets, fashion shows, school socials, dance nights and exhibitions.
The Burdekin Memorial Hall complex houses a variety of rooms, including:
- the Main Hall;
- the smaller Minor Hall; and
- Meeting Room facility.
The Main Hall is completely air-conditioned and can seat up to 500 people at tables or 700 people in theatre style. The hall boasts a stage which is suitable for bands, concerts and other live performances, while a catwalk is available for fashion shows. The stage is equipped with a front-of-house stage curtain and limited stage lighting and sound systems which can be operated by highly skilled technical staff. Behind the stage are modern dressing rooms. The state-of-the-art kitchen is also available to clients and can cater for up to 500 people.
The Minor Hall is ideal for smaller functions and meetings for up to 120 people concert seated concert style or up to 80 seated at tables.
The Meeting Room is ideal for meetings for up to 25 people, and is self-contained with its own kitchenette and bathroom.
