The session will be held on Wednesday 19th May, and runs from 11am-12pm with the usual storytime fun of rhyming and a hands-on, space inspired storytime response activity at the end.
Why not come along dressed up like an astronaut or an alien? There's endless fun to be had at the library!
What is National Simultaenous Storytime?
National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country. Now in its 21st successful year, it is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children's book that explores age-appropriate themes, and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6. NSS can be enjoyed by anyone whether you're reading at school, home, the library, a university or daycare - the goal is get 1 million kids reading!
