Found, unwanted or trapped domestic cats
Found, unwanted or trapped domestic cats can be dropped off into a caged area at the Mackenzie Street pound. The public can access an encosed area via a sliding steel door located on the right side masonry block wall near the rear right corner of the pound building. Council will provide food and water inside the holding pen for the cats.
The Council’s Compliance Officer may collect trapped animals on request if duties permit. This service will only be available during business days. A request is to be made through Customer Service on telephone 07 4783 9800;
Please note that feral or wild cats SHOULD NOT be placed in the cat holding pen at the pound. Customers who have trapped aggressive feral cats should contact the Compliance Officers via Customer Service during working hours to arrange assistance in securing feral cats at the pound.
