Burdekin Community Projects Receive Over $30,000 in Council Funding

Burdekin Shire Council has allocated over $30,000 in cash funding and in-kind support to nine local community groups and organisations as part of Round 1 of the 2025/26 Community Grants Program.
Mayor Pierina Dalle Cort said the program continues to provide valuable assistance to local groups delivering events, projects and services that benefit the Burdekin community.
“Our community groups are the heartbeat of the Burdekin, and Council is proud to support the incredible work they do,” Mayor Dalle Cort said.
“These grants help ease the financial burden of running events and projects, so they can focus on delivering positive outcomes for our community.”
Round 1 recipients are:
- Ayr Surf Lifesaving Club
- Osborne State School P&C Association
- Burdekin Singers & Theatre Company
- Queensland Cancer Council
- Burdekin Water Festival Committee
- Home Hill State High School P&C Association
- East Ayr State School P&C Association
- Giru Show & School of Arts Inc
- Home Hill Harvest Festival Committee
Following the adoption of the recommendations from the Community Grants Panel meeting held on 23 July 2025, Council notes that the remaining cash funds of $32,300 is available for allocation in the remaining three rounds of the program, with additional in-kind support available.
