At no cost, Burdekin Library members can download eBooks and eAudiobooks through BorrowBox, hoopla, Libby by OverDrive and cloudLibrary (multiple languages). eMagazines are available through Libby by OverDrive. Movies and music are available through hoopla. Digital Storytelling for children can be accessed through StoryBox Hub.

BorrowBox
Downloading the BorrowBox app from the Apple Store or Google Play makes it easy to browse, borrow and listen to eAudiobooks and eBooks anywhere, everywhere. Simply login with your library member details to access the library’s collection of eAudiobooks and eBooks.
- Browsing: Grouped by age category. Browse by genre or by specially curated lists. Quickly find new releases. Search by title, author and narrator. Easily find similar titles you might want to listen to. Listen to previews. Get more info about the author and narrator.
- Borrowing: Borrow instantly or reserve for later. View current loans and reserves. View loan history. Renew loans whenever you want. Automatic deletion of expired loans so no overdue fees.
- Listening and Reading: Offline listening and reading. Automatically saves your current position in the audiobook and ebook.
To access BorrowBox for the first time, follow these steps.
1. Search for "BorrowBox" in your device's app store (Apple or Google Play) and install the app.
2. Open the app and select Burdekin Library from the drop-down list.
3. Enter your library membership card number (barcode) and your PIN/password (your birth date in DDMMYYYY format).
4. Read and agree to the terms and conditions, then enter your email address and display name to complete your account registration.

Libby
Access eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines through Libby by Overdrive. All you need is your library membership card and your password (your birth date in DDMMYYYY format) to sign in. Libby is available for Android, iOS, Windows 10, and some Chromebooks. To sign up for the first time, follow these directions:
1. Install the Libby app from your device’s app store.
- Apple App Store
- Google Play
- Windows Store
2. In Libby, follow the prompts to find your library and sign in with your library membership card number and your password (your birth date in DDMMYYYY format).
3. Browse your library’s collection and borrow a title.
4. Borrowed titles appear on your Shelf and download to the app automatically when you’re connected to Wi-Fi, so you can read them when you’re offline.
From your Shelf, you can:
- Tap Open Book or Open Audiobook to start reading or listening to a title.
- Tap Manage Loan to see options like Renew, Return
Help Guides are also available.
You can borrow 10 titles at a time for 3 weeks at a time.

Hoopla
hoopla is a digital media service offering over 900,000 titles which include audiobooks, movies, ebooks, television shows, music albums, magazines and comics. Instead of having holds and wait periods, you can borrow titles anytime you want; however, there is currently a limit of 10 of titles you can borrow each month. Start enjoying your hoopla today all for FREE with your Burdekin Library membership.
At home or on the go, any title you borrow can be viewed across any device you’re signed into through hoopla's mobile app and online at hoopladigital.com.au
1. Download the app from the Apple Store or from Google Play and take a look at Hoopla. Alternatively, go to the Hoopla website.
2. Open the app or website and select the "Sign Up" option.
3. Enter your email address and create a password for your account.
4. Link your library account. Search for and select Burdekin Library from the list of options.
5. Enter your library membership card number and your password (your birth date in DDMMYYYY format).
6. Start browsing!

StoryBox Hub
Inspire a lifelong love of reading with StoryBox Hub! This engaging platform, tailored for children from the early years to upper primary, showcases a delightful array of stories crafted by talented local authors and illustrators. Each story is brought to life by expressive, predominantly Australian storytellers, turning every read-aloud session into a captivating adventure. Enjoy stories that are a little bit cheeky, a little bit charming and a whole lot of fun!
To access StoryBox Hub for the first time, follow these steps.
App
- Download the Story Box Library app on your device (links below).
- Tap the LOG IN WITH LIBRARY ACCESS button.
- Use the library drop-down select Burdekin Shire Council.
- In Barcode No. enter your library card number (M7000...). Be sure to use a capital M. Then in PIN/password enter your birth date (in DDMMYYYY format). Mark the check boxes when you are ready, then hit the LOG IN button.
5. Start browsing!
Web browser
1. Visit the Story Box Hub webpage at https://storyboxhub.com/libraries?library_id=102507
2. Click the LIBRARY tab under LOGIN.
3. Enter your library card number (M7000...) in the PUBLIC LIBRARY CARD BARCODE NUMBER field. Be sure to use a capital M.
4. Enter your library PIN/password (your birth date in DDMMYYYY format) in the Library Catalogue PIN/password field.
5. Tick the I HAVE READ AND ACCEPT THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS box when you are ready.
6. Tick the I UNDERSTAND THAT STORY BOX LIBRARY'S PUBLIC LIBRARY LICENCE DOES NOT EXTEND TO USE IN AN EDUCATIONAL SETTING box.
7. Click the LOG IN button.
8. Start browsing!
cloudLibrary - Language Collection
Ebooks and eaudiobooks in 25 Languages Other Than English (LOTE) are now available in the Burdekin Library Language Collection through Bibliotheca's cloudLibrary. You can read or listen by following these easy steps.
- Download the app directly from the Apple App Store or Google Play and launch the app.
- Select your country, region and Burdekin Library, then tap next.
- Accept the terms and conditions
- Log into your library using your library member number and PIN.
- Browse, borrow and read.
