Drinking Water Quality Management Plan

As a Registered Water Service Provider under the Water Supply (Safety and Reliability) Act 2008, the Burdekin Shire Council performs water quality testing at various sites in Ayr, Alva Beach, Brandon, Home Hill, Giru and Mt Kelly.

Council is committed to ensuring that water supplied to Burdekin residents from the water reticulation scheme meets National Health & Medical Research Council (NHMRC) drinking water guidelines. This requirement is also legislation under the Water Act 2000.

Council is required to display the current versions of the Drinking Water Quality Management Plan, Drinking Water Quality Management Plan Yearly Report and Drinking Water Quality Management Plan Audit Report on it’s public website. Please find these documents in the related documents section below.
