Water Billing

Burdekin Shire Council charges a two part water tariff that includes a fixed access charge and a two tiered consumption charge. Tier 1 charges apply to annual water consumption from zero to 1,000 kilolitres and Tier 2 charges apply for annual water consumption over 1,000 kilolitres. Water meters are read twice per financial year in October/November and April/May with consumption included in the Half-yearly rates notices issued in in August and February.

Council resolved that the following pricing structure be adopted for water supply for 2025/26:

Access Charge -
$540 for zero allocation

Consumption Charges -
55 cents per kilolitre for Tier 1 usage between 0 and 1,000 kilolitres annually
$1.90 per kilolitre for Tier 2usage over 1,000 kilolitres annually
