Rate Notices - Substituted Service

Council must serve the following rate notices by substituted service in accordance with section 239 of the Local Government Act 2009 as Council does not know, or is uncertain about, the current address of the person/s named in each rate notice.

If some or all of the rates and charges remain unpaid for 3 or more years on any property listed, the property may become eligible for sale of land for rate arrears action.  This may lead to the property being sold by public auction.
