Every five years, the Census provides an invaluable snapshot of who we are as a community. The information collected helps build a picture of our population, families, housing, workforce and community needs.

But the Census is about much more than numbers.

The data collected helps all levels of government plan for the future and make informed decisions about infrastructure, services and community investment. Census information can help identify trends in population growth, age demographics, housing demand, workforce participation and community needs, providing a strong evidence base for future planning.

For local councils, accurate population data is critical when advocating for funding and investment in regional communities. Whether it's roads, community facilities, parks, recreational spaces, libraries, water infrastructure or services that support families and older residents, reliable data helps demonstrate community need and support planning for future projects.

When Census time arrives, taking a few minutes to participate can help shape decisions that affect our community for years to come.

Every person counts. Every response matters. Every Census helps build a stronger Burdekin.
