Let’s Get Ready Burdekin: Super Waste Sunday returns 7 December 2025
Published on 20 November 2025
Burdekin Shire Council is encouraging residents to take part in Super Waste Sunday on Sunday, 7 December 2025. This community clean-up initiative helps households prepare for cyclone season by offering waived dumping fees on a wide range of sorted waste items across all Council waste facilities.
Mayor Pierina Dalle Cort said Super Waste Sunday is an important opportunity for residents to safely prepare their properties ahead of severe weather.
“Keeping our homes and yards clear of unnecessary waste is a key part of getting ready for cyclone season. Super Waste Sunday makes it easier for our community to tidy up, declutter and responsibly dispose of a variety of items,” she said.
