Biography
Councillor Amanda Hall is currently serving her first term as a Councillor for Burdekin Shire Council.
Over the years, Councillor Hall has held various roles, including working for the local Member for Burdekin, the Hon. Dale Last MP; the National Australia Bank for 10 years; and Stacey & Stacey Optometrists for 8 years. She has also worked for a State Government department and currently serves as Secretary for the LNP Burdekin State Electoral Council.
Amanda and her husband Peter have successfully operated a farming enterprise for over 30 years. She has a strong understanding of the challenges facing the sugar industry - both broadly and at a personal, local level.
Her areas of interest include:
- Ensuring rural communities receive equitable access to services and facilities, comparable to those in main township areas;
- Supporting local economic growth through development and tourism initiatives;
- Addressing the issue of vacant shops and improving their condition.
Councillor Amanda Hall is committed to providing equal and effective representation for all areas of the Burdekin Shire.
Amanda is married and has four adult children.
