Upgrade to a 360L Recycling Bin

Need More Recycling Capacity?

If your household regularly fills its recycling bin before collection day, Burdekin Shire Council offers the option to upgrade your standard 240L recycling bin to a 360L recycling bin.

The larger bin provides 50% more capacity, giving households extra room to recycle more and reduce overflow between collections.

 

Upgrade Cost

A one-off fee of $66.00 applies to upgrade from a 240L recycling bin to a 360L recycling bin.

Payment can be made through Council's Customer Service Centre.

Once payment has been received, Council will arrange for your existing 240L recycling bin to be exchanged for a 360L recycling bin.

The upgrade fee is a one-off charge only. Once paid, there are no ongoing additional charges applied to your Waste Utility Charge on future rates notices.

 

Moving House?

Moving Within the Burdekin Shire

Your 360L recycling bin upgrade can be transferred to another property within the Burdekin Shire.

If you are moving, please contact Council's Waste Services team so your details and collection service can be updated.

 

Moving Outside the Burdekin Shire

If you move outside the Burdekin Shire, the 360L recycling bin must remain at the property.

Please note:

  • The one-off upgrade fee is non-refundable.
  • The upgraded bin remains with the property.
  • No refund will be provided for the upgrade fee.

 

How to Apply

To upgrade your recycling bin:

  1. Visit or contact Council's Customer Service Centre.
  2. Pay the one-off upgrade fee of $66.00.
  3. Council will arrange the exchange of your existing 240L recycling bin for a 360L recycling bin.
