Biography
Councillor Max Musumeci is currently serving his second term as a Councillor for Burdekin Shire Council, having first been elected in 2020. At the post-election meeting held on 3 April 2024, he was elected Deputy Mayor.
Max has a diverse background spanning agriculture, trade industries, and sales, with formal qualifications in farming and sales. He also has experience and a strong interest in property development and is a proud small business owner. His long-standing commitment to community service has earned him several accolades through years of volunteering in various roles.
Born in Home Hill, and with a farm located on the northern side of the Burdekin River, Max’s roots in the Shire run deep. He has always been community-minded and currently serves as a Director of the Home Hill and Ayr Bendigo Community Bank branches (2013 - present). He is also a former Coordinator of the Cane Field Ashes and previously held the role of Providore at the Home Hill Golf Club.
While representing all residents of the Shire, Max’s key areas of interest include agriculture, building and construction, and strengthening community connections.
Max is married and has two children.
