Sweet Days Hot Nights Festival Introduces Meat Smoking Competition

This culinary showdown is set to bring together local chefs, passionate home cooks, and BBQ enthusiasts to showcase their smoking skills and celebrate the rich flavours of the Burdekin region.

The Meat Smoking Competition, part of the 2025 festival, adds a delectable twist to the event’s already impressive lineup. 

Festival-goers can look forward to sampling mouth-watering smoked meats while enjoying live music, family-friendly entertainment, and much more.

Mayor Pierina Dalle Cort said this competition adds a fun and tasty element to what is already shaping up to be an unforgettable festival.

“The Sweet Days Hot Nights Festival is all about celebrating the best of our region - from our fresh produce and agricultural roots to the talent and creativity of our people,” Mayor Dalle Cort said.  

“We are excited to introduce this new event, which will showcase some of the finest BBQ and smoking talent the Burdekin has to offer.”

The Sweet Days Hot Nights Festival will take place over two days, Friday 30 May and Saturday 31 May.
