Burdekin Shire Council wishes to advise that the Ayr Aerodrome runway will be closed from Monday 19 October to Friday 23 October 2026 while essential upgrade works are carried out.
The temporary closure is required to allow for a full runway reseal, helping to ensure the ongoing safety, reliability, and longevity of the aerodrome’s infrastructure.
These important works are proudly funded through the Australian Government’s Regional Airports Program.
