The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) advises pavement strengthening works will be delivered on the Bruce Highway between Thirteenth Street and Sixteenth Street, Home Hill, from 7 October to 10 October 2026. The works will be delivered at night, between 7pm and 6am, to minimise the impact on daytime traffic, weather and site conditions permitting. These works will strengthen the road pavement to help improve safety, reliability and long-term performance of the road network for all users.
During the works:

- Signed detours will be in place via Tenth Street, Thirteenth Street and Sixteenth Street for all motorists travelling to and from the Bruce Highway

Traffic management will be in place, and motorists are asked to follow signage and direction from traffic controllers. All works are subject to weather, site conditions and contractor availability. Variable Message Signs (VMS) will be in place on the approaches to the work sites to ensure road users are aware of the changed traffic conditions. Changes in dates due to poor weather will be posted on the VMS. For information on road closures, hazards and traffic alerts visit www.QLDtraffic.qld.gov.au.
