Burdekin Shire Council has several venues that are available for regular or casual hire by community groups, government, non-government organisations, businesses, and individuals.  Please click on the sections below to find out more information about each venue and how to make a booking.

Ayr Showgrounds

The Ayr Showgrounds has both the main ring and hall available for hire.  This venue is ideal for exhibitions, funfairs, rodeos

or circus type events.  There is also smaller halls for hire for band practices (weekly fees apply).

Burdekin Memorial Hall

The Burdekin Memorial Hall has 3 rooms available for hire, including the main hall, minor hall and meeting room.  The versitily of this venue makes it ideal for weddings, balls, fashion shows, cabarets, concerts, meetings or any formal type events.

Burdekin Theatre

The Burdekin Theatre is the home of arts and entertainment in the Burdekin Region playing host to a diverse range of live

performances, conferences, meetings, seminars, exhibitions and many local events. The Burdekin Theatre can provide specialist light and sound requirements to make your event stand out.

There are several spaces available for hire at the Burdekin Theatre including the Auditorium, Foyer, Forecourt and Music Loft, all of which have specific features shown below.

Please note that while we allow portable shade structures to be erected at this location under no circumstances are tent pegs/star pickets to be used. This is due to the underground sprinkler system.

Swimming Pools

Both the Ayr and Home Hill Swimming Pools are available to hire for private functions.  Please see the Caravan Parks and Swimming Pools page for details about these facilities.
