Rate Notices
Burdekin Shire Council issues rates annually, normally in August. The rate notice includes general rates and utility charges such as but not limited to water, sewerage and garbage. In addition, Council issues a Half Year Water Consumption notice, normally in January.
Rate notices are usually due and payable within 31 days of issue. The rate of interest to be charged on rates and charges is 11% compound interest, charged on daily rests. Council will impose interest on rates and charges from the day they become overdue.
