Transfer Stations and Landfill Operating Hours

Burdekin Shire Council have one operational landfill and four transfer stations that are open to the public for the purpose of waste disposal and depositing recycling.

Council offers free disposal for the majority of household waste for Burdekin residents only.

To take advantage of this you must separate the waste from the recyclable items.

Fees apply to all unsorted domestic waste and commercial waste. Fees apply to certain recyclable items.

Please follow the directions given by the Transfer Station attendant.

Note: Kirknie Landfill and Ayr, Home Hill, Giru and Clare Transfer Stations are closed Christmas Day and Good Friday.
